04.22.06 I hosted a show on independent radio station Neighborhood Public Radio (NPR) in San Francisco. My show exposed listeners to an independent media virus (the broadcast itself) that was transmitted over the airwaves in tandem with the a special report: tracking "the spread of this virus", identifying areas that may have been exposed to the broadcast, and speculation on the benevolent and malevolent qualities of the virus. Listeners were advised to come down to the station for treatment. Topical treatment and consultation were provided at a temporary out-patient walk-in clinic located next door to the station. Patients received a consultation and a professional special f/x makeover that gave unique, visual form to their infection. Patients left the clinic with an understanding that the public may have been exposed to other strains of the media virus, such as those transmitted by larger network broadcasts. Patients left the clinic looking worse than when they arrived for treatment.
